TLE 9: Food Service, Food Preparation, and Wellness Massage

This course equips Grade 9 learners with the fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and positive work values needed in the fields of Food Service, Food Preparation, and Wellness Massage. It introduces learners to occupational safety and health (OSH), proper use of tools, equipment, and materials, food preparation techniques, basic restaurant and customer service procedures, and essential wellness massage practices.

Through classroom discussions, demonstrations, laboratory activities, and performance-based tasks, learners develop competence in preparing food, setting up service areas, practicing proper hygiene and sanitation, providing quality customer service, and applying basic wellness massage techniques while observing safety standards and professional ethics.

The course also promotes teamwork, responsibility, communication, creativity, and entrepreneurship, preparing learners for further specialization in the Home Economics track and future career opportunities in the hospitality, food service, and wellness industries. The learning experiences are aligned with the goals of the MATATAG Curriculum and the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) program, emphasizing practical life skills and industry-relevant competencies.
